& Martha Stewart Live – Partybluprints.com is invited to blog live
while Martha’s Big Blog Show is being shot live. Well, today was
certainly an experience. Gather 150+ bloggers for a Martha Stewart show
all about blogging and you can only imagine the energy and clicking of
the keys! Between blogging for Partybluprints’ Blog “The Partyline” and
Posh Mama (we’re weekly contributors on this all female online
community see this post: GO) we had over 1oo comments during the airing of the show and they’re still coming in. Pretty cool. The
studio is conveniently located on 26th between 7th and 8th.
Instructions are to arrive by 8:30 and wait in line. It was a gorgeous
day so the 1 hour wait outside wasn’t bad. We had a chance to meet and
briefly chat with Laura, Audience PA - thumbs up, first experience with
Martha Show is nothing but warm, welcoming and kind. Dawn, Laura and Elizabeth We
spent our time catching up with some of our fellow Posh Mama bloggers,
all you ladies are fabulous, bright spirits - special shout out to
Catherine – your joy and excitement was contagious, we loved meeting
you. About 8:40 the line started moving slowly. In small groups you’re
escorted inside to check in and receive your tickets, then asked to
wait in a holding room – the whole atmosphere is very calm and orderly,
just like Martha! While waiting in the holding room, we met up with Deb
who blogs Jerseybites.com (we just love another Jersey girl!) knew her only virtually, so it was nice to meet in person! From
the holding room, you’re called to enter the studio by the code on your
ticket. Oh, that’s us, into the studio we go. Yes, when we entered the
studio, there was a bit of an “aaaah” moment. Sometimes studios look so
much better on television than in person – not in this case. Of course,
Martha’s set is crisp, well organized and just plain spectacular. High
energy, hip music is playing loud enough to get you moving, but not
loud enough to give you a headache. Although Martha’s “stage” staff is
large, they move calmly and methodically to get everything (including
audience, guests, props, etc.) in proper position. Getting your
bags/purses under your seat is a big thing – otherwise they’d be a bit
unsightly… As
the clock ticks closer to 10am, Joey Kola warms up the crowd. He’s high
energy, engaging and entertaining. Everyone’s cued and then the big
“drum roll” as Martha emerges from the kitchen. She exudes a metered
radiance as her presence fills the entire studio – always the gracious
host. Have to admit, Martha looks great. Casually, but crisply dressed
in perfectly pressed blue and white striped button down shirt and jeans
paired with a pair of pumps – wow her legs are long! With her great
haircut and signature smile, away she goes. The show begins and strikes
an easy and relaxed pace as guest after guest graces the stage.
Martha’s exchange with the guests seem very real, it’s more like a
conversation than an interview. Nothing is hurried or frantic –
completely under control and well managed every detail of the show is
executed just as planned. Another wow! Ps. We loved Matt from Mattbites.com he was not only a great guest, but a nice guy (we had the chance to chat with him after the show)! Dawn, Matt and Elizabeth and Matt with Martha (picture from mattbites.com) We
were very impressed with everyone we encountered with the show,
professional and courteous and friendly – what more could you ask for?
Hats off to The Martha Stewart Show and the many hands responsible for
its seamless production. Well done, well done. Here are some shots when we were not on air - the set is beautiful but busy.
 We
just love it! So simple and so much fun. This is perfect for the

August 28 We
know what you're probably thinking, how can you combine "no labor" with
hosting a party? Well, we've not only done it, but we've perfected it
and put all the need to know information in an electronic party plan ( Partybluprints.com "Easy as Pie" Eparty Plan) that really is as easy as pie! Although
September 21st is the official end of summer, everyone considers Labor
Day the last hoorah. So plan to host a Labor Day BBQ that is true to
the spirit behind this holiday. Labor Day was established as a national
holiday to honor our nation's workforce and give them a day of rest -
it really should be called "No Labor Day". Further, after a summer of
hamburgers and hot dogs, guests will love this "untraditional" barbecue
that showcases summer's abundant and delicious produce, puts a twist on
a favorite communal meal, pizza, and then tops it off with a lot of fun
and excitement! The added bonus of this party is that it's an
affordable way to entertain a crowd outdoors and that means no oven,
dishwasher or mess inside. Are you starting to see where we are going with this...Before
we're all thrown back into the hectic pace of "real life" that comes
along with the school year, make the most of the upcoming 3 day
weekend. Celebrate the last few lazy days of summer with a Pizza BBQ
that's all about ease and simplicity - remember NO labor. Your guests
will relish becoming Pizzaiolos, as they create and grill pizzas with a
"teammate" as part of a competition. At our last one, teams actually
used hats, sunglasses and a few other props from around our house to
unify themselves as teams. As you can imagine this added to the fun and
made for a 'more spirited' competition. Enjoy turning your grill into a
pizza oven, shopping the local produce stand for farm fresh fruit and
vegetables for toppings, and transforming your backyard into an
alfresco neighborhood pizza parlor. The best part of this party is that
everything can be prepared in advance of the party, with the exception
of the pizzas which are made by your guests, clean up is a snap, the
leftovers go home with your guests, and everything else is disposable.
It's as easy as uno, due, tre! Mangia! Join us in sending off
summer with a party that brings together family and friends of all ages
for some plain ole fun. Here are some quick tips from the Eparty Plan:1.
Purchase pizza dough from your local pizzeria. Although they don't
advertise it, many pizzerias will sell it to you by the pound if you
ask. Making pizza dough for a crowd is labor intensive, so save
yourself the work. 2. When grilling pizza, use a well oiled
grill topper to cook the dough. Watch it carefully as it cooks, as it
can burn quickly. You may want to test a few small pieces of dough and
adjust the heat accordingly. 3. Cook the dough first, then add toppings, and heat through. 4. Enjoy a variety of fresh produce, including herbs, on your grilled pizza. 5. Use the extra produce you buy for the pizza toppings to create colorful centerpieces, and add some sunflowers. For
the comprehensive Partybluprints Eparty Plan with all the details and
tips (we've got some good ones!) on how to host this outrageously fun
party - visit Partybluprints.com "Easy As Pie" Pizza BBQ Eparty Plan. Here's is an excerpt...Although
this neighborhood pizza parlor ("your home") may contain elements of
your favorite pizza parlor, it certainly will not be traditional.
Little will your guests realize that they are about to tap into their
creativity and competitive nature to playfully compete for the title of
"Pizzaiolo", master in the art of pizza making. Pair your guests up
into teams and allow them to express themselves. Working with the
abundant selection of toppings you have presented at "The Works
Station", the teams make pizza pies. Each team will create their own
"artist's palate" and take turns designing and serving pizza to the
other guests. Soon all will be comparing notes over the freshest and
most artistic pizzas in town. Enjoy a slice of heaven at a unique
neighborhood pizza parlor with your family. Over this meal, everyone is
family.Cheers to Extraordinary Entertaining! Written by Dawn Sandomeno & Elizabeth Mascali of of Partybluprints.com published weekly on Posh Mama Online Magazine.
